Please read these terms carefully. These Terms and Conditions apply to all vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, inspections, and diagnostics carried out by Onyx Automotive in Nerang, Gold Coast, QLD. By requesting a service or making a booking, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Manufacturer’s Warranty & Logbook Servicing
Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you have the right to choose who services your vehicle. Servicing your new vehicle at Onyx Automotive will NOT void your manufacturer’s new car warranty. We guarantee that:
All servicing is performed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's specified service schedules and guidelines.
We use high-quality parts and lubricants that meet or exceed original equipment (OEM) standards.
We will stamp and validate your logbook after every service.
2. Quotes and Upfront Pricing
We believe in absolute transparency and honesty. We provide a detailed, fixed-price quote before any work begins on your vehicle:
Quotes are valid for 14 days and cover all specified parts, labour, fluids, and environmental levies.
No Unapproved Work: If our technicians identify any additional faults, safety concerns, or recommended repairs during servicing, we will immediately stop, contact you, explain the issue, and provide a separate fixed-price quote. We will never carry out or charge for any additional work without your authorisation and written consent.
3. Customer-Supplied Parts
To maintain our strict safety standards, ensure component compatibility, and allow our comprehensive workmanship warranty to apply:
Onyx Automotive does not fit parts supplied by the customer.
We source and fit only verified, high-quality parts and components from our trusted suppliers. This ensures that every fitted part is correct for your vehicle model and fully covered under our warranty policies.
4. Workmanship & Parts Warranty
We pride ourselves on the high standard of our workmanship and stand behind our services:
Workmanship Warranty: All services and mechanical repairs performed by Onyx Automotive are covered by a dedicated workmanship warranty, starting from the date of the completed service invoice.
Parts Warranty: All parts fitted by us are covered by their respective manufacturer's product warranties. In the event of a part failure, we will manage the warranty claim directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Exclusions: The workmanship warranty does not cover failures caused by accidents, vehicle modifications, racing/competition use, pre-existing vehicle faults that we did not work on, or wear-and-tear items beyond their expected service life (such as brake pads, filters, and fluids).
5. Australian Consumer Law Guarantees
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to:
Cancel your service contract with us; and
A refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
6. Payment and Completion
Payment is due strictly upon completion of the authorised work and prior to or at the time of vehicle pick-up. We accept Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS, and Cash. We will issue a detailed, itemised invoice via email or paper copy immediately upon payment.
7. Vehicle Care, Storage, and Access
We treat your vehicle with the utmost care while it is in our Nerang workshop. However:
Please ensure that all personal belongings and valuables are removed from the vehicle prior to drop-off. Onyx Automotive is not liable for the loss or damage of personal items left in the vehicle.
Vehicles left at our workshop for more than 48 hours after notification of completion, without prior arrangement, may be subject to a storage fee of $30 per day.
8. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
